Mäpt Mïk-zmear (/mɪk/ /zmeˈar/ [extinct] [manager]) is a temperate Large Town located in the Ftuzmïtárg Principality of the City-state of Olatkana.

The name Mäpt Mïk-zmear is derived from the Gnollish language, as Mäpt Mïk-zmear was founded by Carys vyim Rolɑrtɑirdirn, who was culturaly Gnollish.

Climate

Mäpt Mïk-zmear has a yearly average temperature of 3°C (37°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a freezing -5°C (23°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 12°C (53°F). Overview

Mäpt Mïk-zmear was founded durring the late 12th century in winter of the year 1072, by Carys vyim Rolɑrtɑirdirn. The establishment of Mäpt Mïk-zmear suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Mäpt Mïk-zmear which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Mäpt Mïk-zmear was built using the conventions of Gnollish durring the late 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Mäpt Mïk-zmear is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Mäpt Mïk-zmear is is constructed arround a series of restrictive packed earth mainstreets which form concentric circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to each other at varrious points. The town is protected by a well-crafted cobblestone fence tall enough to provide adiquite cover for defenders to fire from, but no more than that. The frontieer-style defences have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

Mäpt Mïk-zmear has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Mäpt Mïk-zmear ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. The people are clearly worried about something, and everyone is either wearing a weapon or has one close at hand. Your gut tells you it’s not mere fate which has caused this town to begin failing...

Civic Infrastructure

Mäpt Mïk-zmear has an animal control department which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the control, impoundment, and disposition of animals.

Mäpt Mïk-zmear has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Mäpt Mïk-zmear. Mäpt Mïk-zmear has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Mäpt Mïk-zmear's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Mäpt Mïk-zmear has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Mäpt Mïk-zmear's natural decorations nor waterways.

Mäpt Mïk-zmear has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

There’s a relatively new religion in Mäpt Mïk-zmear which is rapidly gaining power. It might be a sectarian offshoot of a major faith, the unique product of a new prophet, or an outside faith backed by wealthy and powerful foreign supporters. Depending on the demands made on believers, the new faith may be a matter of concern only to the existing clergy, or it might be a major flashpoint for conflict in the community.

Mäpt Mïk-zmear's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is famous for its stately symmetry, classical elements, and grand appearance. Columns and pillars, such as Corinthian columns, are often seen supporting open structures or porticos. Symmetry is an important feature of this style, with each half of a building mirroring the other. Domed ceilings and windows grace these buildings, with everything placed in a mathematical arrangement.

Mäpt Mïk-zmear's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves ritual combat to channel Chronomancy energies of tier 3 via divine sermons.
